TEMISA technician connecting the new stator winding of a medium-voltage motor

Electric motor rewinding

Rewinding replaces a motor winding whose insulation has reached the end of its life or has been damaged. TEMISA rewinds medium-voltage motors under ANSI/EASA AR100, keeping the original design data (wire size, turns, pitch and connection), checking the stator core before winding and closing each job with documented acceptance tests.

Scope

What the service covers

  • Concentric, lap and wave windings, and form-wound coils made in our own coil area.
  • Class F (155 °C) and Class H (180 °C) insulation systems; dip varnish or VPI.
  • Stator core check before rewinding: a new winding is not installed on a damaged core.
  • Acceptance tests: insulation resistance and polarization index (IEEE 43), surge (IEEE 522).

Credentials

Who does the work

CFE LAPEM qualification
Supplier qualification certificate 053/26 (specification W6000-20, motors), issued February 20, 2026, valid through May 20, 2027; report R-N01328-9; Talleres Electromecánicos Industriales Sainz, S.A. de C.V., Tlajomulco plant. Literal scope: in-plant service to motors at rated voltage up to 1.5 kV; from 150 to 6,500 HP it includes coils; from 6,500 to 15,000 HP it is limited to cleaning, varnishing, testing and mechanical work; dynamic balancing approved up to 15 t. It is a credential, not the limit of the service offer (medium- and high-voltage motors above 1,000 V, subject to nameplate review).
Quality management and repair process
ISO 9001:2015 certificate IQS/3409/2026, valid September 24, 2026 through September 23, 2029. Repair processes follow ANSI/EASA AR100 (a process standard, not a certification).
Plant
5,600 m² shop in Tlajomulco de Zúñiga, Jalisco, Mexico, with overhead cranes up to 60 t. Founded 1954.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Other questions: write to ventas@temisa.mx and an engineer will answer.

Do you accept low-voltage motors?

No. We accept industrial medium- and high-voltage motors only. Low-voltage motors (1,000 V or less) are outside our service scope. Send the nameplate for review before arranging shipment.

Does rewinding reduce motor efficiency?

Not when the process protects the core and keeps the original winding data. That is why the core is checked before winding and the design data are recorded first.

Do you make the coils?

Yes. Form-wound coils for medium-voltage motors are made to measure in our own coil area.

How long does a rewind take?

It depends on the motor size, the core condition and materials. A delivery date is stated after diagnosis; a general turnaround is not published.

Medium- and high-voltage enquiries

Provide the motor type and nameplate voltage above 1,000 V. Low-voltage models shown in the reference archive are not accepted. A nameplate photo and failure details help define the scope.

  • Answered by an engineer, in English.
