Medium-voltage motor repair, rewinding and testing
TEMISA repairs, rewinds and tests industrial induction and synchronous motors. Shop reference range: 150–15,000 HP, 2.3–13.8 kV, subject to nameplate review and agreed test capability. Turnaround is confirmed after diagnosis; no single lead time applies to every motor.
Scope and assessment
Repair starts with the machine data
Send the nameplate, failure symptoms and operating conditions. Inspection establishes the condition of the stator, rotor, bearings and insulation before deciding between maintenance, partial repair or rewinding. The scope may include mechanical restoration, winding work, balancing and final tests; each operation must be agreed for the specific machine.
The documented 2.3–13.8 kV range is medium voltage. It is not evidence of capability above 34.5 kV. Higher ratings require a separate technical assessment. TEMISA is an independent repair shop, not an authorized OEM service centre.
| Voltage | 2,300 V · 4,160 V · 6,600 V · 13.8 kV |
|---|---|
| Power | 150–15,000 HP; assessment before acceptance |
| Machine types | Induction (squirrel cage and wound rotor) and synchronous |
| Insulation | Class F (155 °C), Class H (180 °C); impregnation process defined for the winding |
| Acceptance tests | IEEE 43 (IR/PI), IEEE 522 (surge), applicable IEC 60034 procedures and ANSI/EASA AR100 |

Documented work
Evidence from medium-voltage motors
- 7,000 HP · 6.6 kV compressor motor maintenance — case in Spanish
- 600 HP · 4 kV synchronous mill motor repair — case in Spanish
- 3,100 kW · 4 kV mill motor commissioning — case in Spanish
These cases document their stated interventions: maintenance, connection repair and commissioning. They are not claims of a complete rewind on each machine.
Credentials
Who does the work
- CFE LAPEM qualification
- Current qualification under specification W6000-20 (motors), certificate 053/26, valid through May 20, 2027. Scope: service to electric motors from 150 to 15,000 HP at rated voltage up to 1.5 kV. This certificate scope is distinct from the current commercial policy: no motors rated at 1,000 V or less are accepted.
- Quality management and repair process
- ISO 9001:2015 certificate IQS/3409/2026, valid September 24, 2026 through September 23, 2029. Repair processes follow ANSI/EASA AR100 (a process standard, not a certification).
- Plant
- 5,600 m² shop in Tlajomulco de Zúñiga, Jalisco, Mexico, with overhead cranes up to 60 t. Founded 1954.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Other questions: write to ventas@temisa.mx and an engineer will answer.
Do you accept low-voltage motors?
No. Motors rated at 1,000 V or less are outside the current commercial scope. Send the nameplate for review before arranging shipment.
Does the LAPEM certificate qualify all medium-voltage work?
No. The motor service line of certificate 053/26 is limited to 1.5 kV under W6000-20. Workshop capability and the test plan for 2.3–13.8 kV motors are evaluated separately.
How long will the repair take?
A delivery date is stated after diagnosis, taking into account winding condition, mechanical damage, materials and the agreed tests. A general turnaround promise is not published.
What is included in the technical handover?
The agreed scope and recorded electrical and mechanical test results. The applicable standards, test conditions and acceptance criteria are defined for the specific machine.

Medium- and high-voltage enquiries
Provide the motor type and nameplate voltage above 1,000 V. Low-voltage models shown in the reference archive are not accepted. A nameplate photo and failure details help define the scope.
